Perspective Hypnotherapy (psychotherapy with relaxation) and Coaching.

This is the part of Perspective where we can really empower the changes that you want to make. It can support and assist us with goals we want to achieve and the challenges we want to overcome.

We work with you using hypnotherapy; a combination therapy comprising of psychotherapy and guided relaxation, which is developed from Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). This is a type of psychotherapy where we can achieve amazing things in a simple and easy way – it is truly wonderful!

In SFBT, we focus on what you want to achieve. This may be a fitness goal, mental health difficulties or addictions to name just a few. We explore alternative perspectives and utilise your own strengths and resources. Focus is placed on the solution, rather than on problems or obstacles. It has been shown that focussing on moving forward and leaving the past where it belongs, enables us to achieve quick and long lasting results.

In addition to this, we can all greatly benefit from the relaxation that comes from hypnotherapy, as you will perhaps know that relaxation can help us empty our ‘stress bucket.’ This helps to ensure a positive state of mind, reduce stress and enable and empower us to make significant changes.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a type of ‘talking therapy’ that consists of two aspects:
psychotherapy (positive discussion) and deep relaxation trance (hypnosis). The two aspects work hand in hand, known as hypnotherapy, and through them, we can achieve amazing things! It really is a wonderful and simple way that we can help ourselves or make the changes we desire.

Another aspect that can be brought into the sessions is that of life and mindset coaching. Both Ross and Lu are qualified coaches and utilise their skills and experiences in your therapeutic journey to guide and coach you for greater success in making positive and long lasting changes. How this is used within sessions greatly depends on the client and the needs, but by adding this to our hypnotherapy sessions, we can see amazing results.

In a typical appointment, which can either be online or in person at your home or her therapy room in Winterbourne, Lu will discuss with you the things you wish to share and then explore the solutions to the things you wish to change or achieve. The coaching is expertly interwoven throughout the sessions for your highest benefit and success. With everything in mind and a good knowledge of what you want, Lu will then guide you into a relaxing hypnosis trance. This is not the same as the old hypnosis entertainment shows that you may have seen with a pocket watch swinging saying, “Look into my eyes…” She does not have the power to make you ‘Meow’ when someone bids you ‘Good Morning.’ It is, in fact, a very natural and normal state in which we experience every day. Perhaps you can relate to those times where you’ve been on a run, or driving somewhere, or engrossed in a good book or TV show – you enter a state of trance and might wonder where the time went or how you reached your destination. It is through the guided imagery within the trance that we can have access to the subconscious mind and are able to give the mind those suggestions that you wish to have happen. This results in those changes happening within the mind and then outwardly in your life.

Lu studied for her Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) accredited by The Clifton Practice in Bristol and and is working towards her Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD) accredited by the NCFE (Level IV on NQF). She is registered and working under the protocols and procedures of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).

Lu is so excited about what hypnotherapy has and is doing for herself and her clients. She is yet to find something that hypnotherapy is not able to help with. Hypnotherapy and coaching have been the focus of a significant amount of research over the years and what can be achieved with them is quite amazing.

Hypnotherapy works incredibly fast (particularly if the client is open minded and utilises the coaching!) which means that most clients can see results quickly. Typically, a client can use 4 – 8 sessions, but you are not bound by those figures and may not need as many or may need more, either has happened with previous clients.

It’s your journey and there isn’t a set “one size fits all” number.

We offer an introductory session to hypnotherapy where we can discuss things, share about the therapy and generally ascertain what you want from the sessions. There isn’t any hypnotherapy used within this session, but you do get a hypnotherapy gift at the end to keep that will really help you and get a good start on your therapy journey.

Prices:

  • Initial consultation – approximately 1 hour, (Personalised information session with a complementary item to get you started on your journey) £20
  • Sessions, £60 per hour
  • Advanced booking of multiple sessions (4 or more paid up front), £50 per hour
  • Smoking cessation, £120 (one off session, approximately 2 hours)

For hypnotherapist/psychotherapist professionals we are able to provide custom written, person-centred, language patterns/script commissions for use in therapy sessions.
